A German wheat beer so valued in its hay day that the German Nobles passed a law that only their personal brewing facility could make it. The special yeast used in this beer gives it a hearty aroma of bananas and cloves, though no fruit or spices were harmed in the making of this beer. German tradition leaves the yeast in the beer for its health benefits, and Dr's in Germany still prescribe a half a liter of wheat beer a day to their aging patients.

Served on tap at Barnstormers in Norfolk, NE
A- a bit "paler" than what i'm used to, but cloudiness is present with a good white head.
S- my favorite part of this beer. great fruitiness and banana. mouth started watering.
T- yeastiness was present. Fruitiness that was evident in the nose followed through in the taste.
M- light body. could have used my carb to spritz it up
O- Great beer. Hit the spot on a hot day after watching the air show.

THis may be a different incarnation of this beer from the other reviews. There have been some changes at this brewery in the last few years.
App Golden with a thin film for a head. No lacing Clear for a hefeweizen.
Smell- citrus hops and fruitiness bubblegum.
Taste- yeastyiness and the same essence as the smell comes through. Slight rubber/plastic taste, but on the whole there is a good fruity taste to this beer.
Mf- is on the thin side good carbonation though and overall a good beer

Served with a typical cloudy, hazy, yellow color but the head was rather small, poor retention, no lace. The nose was predominately musty, citrus hints, and banana notes. No yeasty-wheat to speak of, no cloves. The palate is overly acidic, too sharp, needs more malt, more substance. Creamy mouthfeel. If you have ever had Shiners Hefeweizen then you have had this beer... just not as good. Id skip it.
I wish it wasn't served in a pint glass either...

cloudy golden brown with an astonishtin boquet of clove and a taste of clove and bannana. Good mouthfeel, with the esters bringing most of the character to the drink. A nice ring of lace around the glass for a while after the drink was served
