Notes:
Brewed with barley, wheat, rye, oats, and just a touch of honey malt, we hammered this beer with Galaxy, Motueka, and Simcoe and double dry-hopped it with the same blend. Big notes of juicy tropical fruit, papaya, kumquat, and dank green tones are rounded out by a pillowy soft finish. The Space Jellyfish roams its alien landscape.

L: massive head formed in standard pint glass. Hazy golden color. Some bubbling slowly from bottom to top. This is a very thick beer. Lacing tenaciously holds on all the way to the top. Unfiltered? Yes :)
S: sweet pine mixed with pineapple
T: piney hops with malt complexity coming on in the middle. Smooth floral/citrus finish
F: balanced. Carbonation settles during the pint
O: excellent beer that manages the malt-hop interplay expertly.

Appearance: Opaque gold with floaties. Small white head, Good lacing.
Aroma: Tropical fruit, mango, berries. Citrus, including lime, in the background.
Taste: Tropical fruit still predominant. A bit of stone fruit. Supportive malt backbone.
Mouthfeel: Grainy but not harsh. Medium bodied and well carbonated.
Overall: Not what I was expecting for a NEIPA, but that's not a bad thing.

Hazy and with some floating chunks. Pours a nice tight bubbled head with good retention.
A soft fruity hoppiness in the aroma, and a bit of piney, but not very distinctively aromatic for the style.
Has a fruity sweetness up front, and turns a bit more earthy and piney midmouth. No distinct bitterness on the backend, but does finish drying and hoppy
MF - highly carbonated, and has a slight burn going down. Very slightly warming? Mouthfeel really hurts this beer.
I think would drink better with less carbonation. The hops aren't terribly exciting to my palate. Not bad, just not for me.

Hazy gold, dense white head, excellent retention and lace
Passion fruit, tangerine, guava, and slight pine aroma
Tastes like it smells, slightly sweet malt canvas, enough bitterness to keep it from being flabby
Slightly pillowy, medium bodied, appropriately carbonated
I like this for a NEIPA. The slight bitterness and backing off on the fullness of body make it drinkable.

Nepenthe Brewing Co. "Space Jellyfish"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$3.75 @ State Line Liquors, Elkton, MD
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a murky golden-orange body beneath a full head of slightly yellowed white foam. The head retention seems to be quite good as it's still holding. There are plenty of bubbles rising quickly within the glass, and the head consists of both larger and smaller bubbles. The aroma is "dank", lightly resinous, sweetish, and fruity with notes of berry and pineapple. The flavor follows with additional notes of mango, a little lime, and some mild spice and herbs. It's got a stiff bitterness to it, and some hop burn that along with the alcohol helps to balance it and dry it in the end. I guess the "Space Jellfish" has some claws to it, just like on the label. In the mouth it's medium-light in body but it feels more like medium because of all of the extra proteins. Ahh, I just remembered, this is brewed with rye, which is probably where the spiciness is coming from, or at least some of it. The head has now dropped to a thin but creamy, almost full surface covering. There's also some very impressive lacing left all around the glass. There are some holes in it, but otherwise it looks like solid sheets. I love this beer. It's a little bit different from what everyone else is doing.

Pineapple takes center stage here, another great IPA from nepenthe. Heavy citrus notes that do not overwhelm, finishes smooth, which I appreciate.

Canned 8/6
Soft and watery up front; lightly sweet notes of honey and mild tropical fruit, pineapple primarily. The finish is more robust, dank and moderately bitter with some citrus rind.
