This gorgeous Czech Dark Lager is made with bohemian pils and a huge malty blend of dark munich and pale chocolate malt with a touch of caramunich, special B and melanoidin malts. Hopped exclusively with Saaz and fermented on a traditional Czech yeast strain. Flavors and aromas of rich brown bread with hints of chocolate, toffee, raisin, and hazelnut. Endlessly crushable, because sometimes you need to get away in a hurry.

A dark tea color on the pour, with a decent head and lacing.
A fairly mellow dark lager. Light bodied, malt forward, and a little toasted chocolate malt.
There are subtle caramel and toffee flavors, dried fruit and nuts. Enjoyable noble hops flavor and bitterness.
Also a carbonation tickle and pleasant aftertaste on the finish.

10 oz draft pour at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. This starts out with an awesome appearance - dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma and flavor offer up bready/nutty malt flavors with some earthy coffee/chocolate undertones as well as dark/dried fruits, but there is an unfortunately sour twang that almost (not quite) ruins the beer - a real bummer, because this could have been quite tasty otherwise.

Draught pint at The Brass Tap here in Baltimore: Looks & feels about like a cola. Not much aroma, or even distinctive taste. Even at happy-hour pricing, probably NOT worth revisiting.

Sudsy light brown bordering dark red, looks much like a cola when held up to the light.
Smells warm, malty, earthy.
Smooth tasting, malty, hints of dark chocolate
A bit light-bodied, not surprising at 4.9 but still felt a bit thin for a dark lager. Nice after-taste with just a bit left on the tongue. On the bright side, probably a nice dark alternative to the session IPA.

Look: It pours brown with a tan head. Head retention is excellent.

Smell: It has aromas of dark caramel and chocolate. It also has a cola like quality that is low with some spice.

Taste: There are bready flavors with toffee, dark caramel and chocolate. There are some dark fruits with very low nut and spice.

Feel: It has a medium body with a somewhat sweet finish. It is smooth on the palate.

Overall, it has a complex range of flavors with a smooth body.

L: Beautiful caramel brown hue, minimal lacing in the glass.
S: Sweet malts with a bit of sugary rice and adjunct. The appearance had me thinking toffee, but the wafts were unmistakenly t(raditional) lager-like.
T: Almost like a "light" bock. Expected more roasted malt-taste but it's still eminently drinkable.
F: Smooth and nicely carbonated. Perfect.
O: Interesting take; I expected a bit more toffee/toasted malts but think this was nicely balanced.
