It's an intimidating label, especially for a Kolsch. Fearlessly, a pint can is emptied into a clear glass liter mug. It's a very nice pour, as with one effort, all of the can's contents rest comfortably within the vessel. There's a modest and enduring off-white head atop a yellowed amber colored brew that's neither dull, nor bright and somewhat cloudy. Not a pronounced aroma, but there's vaguely some malt and even more hops to be had. For this interesting hybrid style, this tastes more like an ale than a lager, as there's a noticeable dry hop finish. As a Kolsch, that means a not so bitter hop character, but this does bring enough hopping that the finish is drier than any lager could be. But, on the lager side of said hybrid, the mouthfeel is very light, even for a that style. Its head didn't sustain through the consumption of the pint and the tracing glass lace was less than memorable. Don't be afraid to consume this because of its label. It's actually a bland attempt at a difficult style to brew, that errs on the side of an ale's hoppiness. Not a bad thing, just not a great Kolsch.

Pours a nice golden color with a white head. Hops dominate the aroma. Hops dominate the flavor. Medium mouthfeel. An American version of a Kolsch, being so hop forward. Still, a very good beer although probably hoppier than traditional versions.
