On-tap at the source and served in its branded shaker pint glass. On to the beer:
This dunkelweizen is topped with a short head which dissipates to a small lacing around the glass. As for color, the body is ruby brown colored. The aroma has promise, bringing some banana bread and a spike of clove. Some of that promise of the aroma is realized as I taste it. It has a pleasant baking spice flavor all around, and adding it to bread crust, kiss of medicinal, and vague fruit notes gives the beer an attractive flavor. it's lighter-medium bodied and very crisp, a touch too sharp with the bubbles.
Not only a good tasting dunkelweizen, but one with thirst busting potential. It's refreshing to see Valiant take on the dark side of wheat beer.
