Kieler Brauerei

This was our first stop in Germany after checking into a nearby hotel. We wanted German, and we got it here! The pretzels, the schnitzel, the wurst, the sauerkraut - and the beer. My daughter and I settled on the Märzen, and ended up downing three pitchers worth. Everything was delicious! It was mid-week so we were pretty much alone in the seating (benches & tables) area, but the bar was alive. We're very happy we came here. Years later we still remember our fun night.

 

This is a very small brewery in the downtown area that also serves food. All the beer that tasted was great as was the food. The really nice thing about this brewery was the wonderful brewer that took time out to show me the brewery and its different parts on different floors. He was wonderful and very friendly I just wished my German was good enough to talk with him.

Neat place in downtown Kiel. They have about 5 beers on tap including one or two from outside breweries and a few bottled beers to choose from. I had a couple of their beers which were not bad at all. Down stairs you are able to see the brewing kettles fermenting the next batch to consume.The service was good and servers were very friendly. A nice relaxing atmosphere. The meals served seem to be good German pub fare. The brewery is not fancy but just a nice place to stop by, relax, have a few pints of the local beers and something to eat. Good place to check out if your ever in Kiel.
