Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a bit of haze and a moderate effervescence. Head poured a finger of frothy ivory foam which has decent retention and leaves a little thin lace on the glass. Not bad.
Smell: sweetish malt with a little toastiness and a very berry-like hop aroma. The label says this was hopped with Belma, and I believe it.
Taste: sweet and berry-like, much like the aroma. There's a little bit of a toasty or wheaty element as well; the label says there's a touch of wheat but this flavor is a little more than a touch. It's not bad, if you don't mind sweet pale ales, but it maybe doesn't entirely suit my palate.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation; there's a very satisfying creaminess here.
Overall: as I said, not bad if you like sweeter pales. It is also interesting in that I haven't seen many commercial brews made with Belma hops; it's definitely worth a try if you are interested in sampling this new variety.
