MIDNIGHT BARLEY COWBOY HOPPED PORTER is an American-style Porter; a hybrid between an Irish Dry stout and a hop heavy India Black Ale. Rich chocolate malt on the palate gives way to a dry and smooth finish. This beer is lightly smoky from the peat smoked malts with pine on the nose. A perfect accompaniment to desserts and an equally ideal drink for both hop lovers and dark beer lovers.

The Midnight Barley Cowboy is close to being above average for a porter. It poured a nearly opaque mahogany with cream head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had peat and coffee tones. The taste was very earthy and malty. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it's worth a try but not overly great. I tried this at Harts Pub in Sydney.
