Klosterbryggeriets Årsøl IPA is a delicious organic ale of 6.2%. This beer offers a wonderful bitterness and nuances of citrus and grapefruit in the taste.
An IPA, or India Pale Ale, is a type of beer known for its strong character and characteristic hop aroma. Historically, the IPA originated as an English beer type developed to withstand the long sea voyage to India during the colonial era. The beer's high alcohol content and extra hops were crucial to maintaining flavor and durability on long voyages.
Årsøl IPA is suitable for accompanying spicy dishes such as Mexican or Indian curry, grilled meat and fatty cheeses.

Copenhagen 7/5 2018. 50 cl bottle from Den Gamle Købmand, Skt. Annæ Plads, Kbh. K. The label looks like the cover from a school text book from Seventies. Very official and exceedingly boring.
Pours hazy amber with very big white head. Settles as 1 cm thick frothy layer foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is subdued considering the style. Sweet fruit and malt, light fermentation and light herbal notes.
Light carbonation and slightly thick texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is slightly more bitter with a little sourness.
Not much in common with an IPA, but a pleasant enough drink.
