A collaboration between Skanderborg Provsti, Skanderborg Museum and Klosterbryggeriet has led to the latter creating a "Luther beer". It is a dark beer with white foam and an alcohol percentage of six.
The beer bottles do not bear a picture of Martin Luther, but of the so-called Luther rose. It was designed by Luther himself in 1517, and it contains six different religious references. For example, the black cross in the middle refers to suffering, death and resurrection.

Copenhagen 13/8 2018. 50 cl bottle from Gift pack brought by my In-Laws for my Birthday. Some kind of Christian flower on the label with a Heart and a Cross.
Pours very dark almost opaque brown with a light beige head. Settles as a thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet and lightly roasted. Not very intense. Brown sugar, caramel, roasted malts, wet cardboard. Light hints of licorice.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery texture.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is toffee sweet. Fairly short.
Kind of strange way to celebrate Luthers 500 year anniversary. But probably more pleasant than the austere old Protestant.
