Out of retirement. Listed at 5.3% ABV. Canned 17 November 2023. Served cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - Clear, cola brown with auburn highlights. A finger of loose light tan head is poured which fizzles away inside two minutes.
Smell - Nuts, a pinch of brown sugar and general roasty maltiness with some dark bread mixed in. Small hints of cherry and fruitcake.
Taste - Light and nutty with plenty of bread some brown sugar and some hints of fruitcake. Low bitterness, but not super sweet, but does lean that direction. Bridging styles with a winter ale, based on the profile.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, modest carbonation and clean watery finish.
Overall - Quite a solid brown ale with lots of Christmas time leanings. Well made, and rather tasty with just the right amounts of sweetness and bitterness.
