Pours a dark molasses brown. Velvety mocha colored head shows amazing head retention.
Aroma is mostly tart with some funky yeasty notes. Molasses and brown sugar dance across the nose with some caramelly malts.
Taste follows the nose with notes of peppery yeast, molasses, brown sugar. rye bread and some spices. Not sweet at all and surprisingly dry.
Feel is medium bodied, smooth, with mild carbonation. Super dry finish.
Overall it’s an interesting beer - not really a winter warmer in the traditional sense - but as a biere de garde it’s quite nice.

Appearance - Pours a reddish brown with three fingers of frothy off white head.
Smell - belgian yeast (clove), toasted malts, caramel, hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, spicy hops.
Taste - belgian yeast (clove), toasted malts and caramel and spicy hops. The cinnamon and nutmeg round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes off dry with both the yeast and spices lingering in the finish.
Overall - A unique twist to the traditional winter warmer style. The Belgian yeast and the spices work in unison together to deliver a unique brew.
