473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for something in the $4 CDN range. Canned July 9, 2020. Listed at 5.8% ABV.
Appearance - Lightly hazy crisp golden brew topped with two fingers of white head that dissipate fairly quickly. Nice curtain of lacing left behind.
Smell - Lots of tartness on the nose, leafy and weedy hops and tart berries. Middling grain in the background.
Taste - Some sourness initally, followed up by hints of sweetness and coarse grainy and crackery qualities. Not really bitter - hard to say that this is an IPA, but fairly tasty.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, modest carbonation some tartness that makes you pucker and grainy and nearly chalky dry finish. Easy drinking
Overall - Good brew, enjoyable sour that is easy to like, but not much stands out apart from the crowd and the lack of perceived bitterness, makes this hard to justify as an IPA. Worth a shot, but don;t expect the moon from this Forgotten Field.
