We decided to brew a beer that is distinctly “RAGBRAI”… something as distinct as the event itself. We also wanted it approachable, well-balanced, and soft on the palate. Something that tastes just as good on the third pint as it did on the first and won’t weigh you down.
We decided on a Rye Pale Ale because rye adds a very distinctive, unique character to beer, often described as crisp, refreshing, slightly spicy and subtle.
This beer we think checks all those boxes; it is golden in color, malty, slightly spicy with a good punch of citrusy hops due to the multiple hop additions and dry hopping. Not too high in alcohol but very flavorful and refreshing. A beer that will go down well after a long day on the bike. Let's Rye'd!
