750ml bottle acquired in trade (I was told it was a part part of the Brewers bottles from the '05 GABF).
Poured a medium and cloudy/murky brownish-orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, earthy, fruity, light peat and a little smokey. Tastes of toffee, sugary sweet, toasted malts, fruity, and smoke. Lively body. This was by far, one of the best Scotch Ales I've had in a while. Well done!

This was one of the few beers I bothered to take time out to review while at the Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. This scotch ale had a dark chestnut color and a thin tan head that shrank down to a small collar but left decent sheet lace behind.
The aromas of caramel, fruit, and toasty malt blended nicely with a more earthy peat aroma and a lighter smokiness. Quite appealing. The taste was, at the start, lushly sweet with hints of carmel glazed apples and a light dusting of chocolate. Then the earthy malt flavor kicked in followed closely by a peat-fire smokiness. Cabor Toss finished with a token herbal hops note and a well-concealed alcoholic warm. The feel was medium in body, smooth and a bit dry.
This offering from Oggi's was one of only a couple I ordered a double sample of and later went back for more. The alcohol content was well hidden and the tastes came together well to make this brew one of my favorites at the fest. Good stuff!

Dark Burgundy.
Earthy, meaty, malt driven aroma with scents of syrup, apple, toasted malt and chocolate.
Malts dominate and give a sweet, smoky, meaty, fruity feel with notes of caramel, chocolate, toasted bread and toffee. Well hidden alcohol but not very complex and a little on the sweet side.
