The waitress says that this addition to the San Diego location is a stronger version of Left Coast Hop Juice (I think Hopnoxious is way better). Enjoyed on-tap at Oggi's in Mission Valley, San Diego on August 31, 2007.
Pours a slightly hazy, deep amber/copper color with a one-finger, creamy white head. Shortlived head leaves lacing all the way down the pint glass. Aroma is very strongly of hops: fruity and piney with some herbal grassiness and malty smells. Flavor is a strong balance of malty goodness, but the hops dominate the palate. Strong grapefruit/citrus and resine-like pine flavors, also very floral and bitter. Definitely not a beer for those afraid of hoppy brews. Mouthfeel is oily and thick with a definite alcoholic dryness, but still rather easy to drink (considering the high alcohol content). Be careful - I split a pitcher with my buddy and we had to wait a while before being sober enough to drive home.
