This was a nitro tap glass at the brewery opening night. Outstanding dry Irish stout. Thick rich dense head on top of an opaque black/brown liquid. Lots of lace and the creamy head very slowly recedes.
Toffee and coffee notes waft upward wrapped in light earthy fuggles. Roasty with dark breadiness.
Taste is classic dry Irish stout with just that bit more. Dark roasted barley and caramel malt bringing a broad toffee sweetness. Perfect hop bitterness. that makes for a clean short finish.
Smooth creamy mouthfeel with an excellent carbonation. Light supple swallow.
Just outstanding overall brew. The nitro tap takes what is an excellent base stout to a superb level.
