An excellent take on the style. super clear and light in color, a pale chestnut brown with a small head with light lacing on the sides of the glass. nose offers all that might be missing to the eye. Rich caramel malt and sweet notes woven in. Dark fruits show themselves with dates and raisins. Light figs and mild banana. Belgian yeast funk is low but pleasant. Taste is top notch and excellent. Sweet bready malts combine with caramel and light a soapiness to platform the mild earthy bitterness. Superb balance with a malt forward, mild and earthy tea leaf hop profile. Finish is clean and dry with toffee and cocoa powder lingering lightly. Hops dry the mouth and deposit a dry astringency. No oil just leaves. Feel is stellar with a lightness that belies the abv. Somewhat thick and chewy while remaining crisp. Full with a carbonation enhances the dryness of the finish and swallow, tingly and mildly effervescent. A great take on the style tha encourages sessioning even at the elevated abv. It drinks so easily. Really like this one. Top shelf job Sharif.
4/5/2018 Had to change the numbers on look. Up from a 3.5. Huge head that stays for days. Tons of lacing. Still clear. This is from a growler pour at home.
