A deep garnet. Nice head, tight with good retention and moderate lacing.
The blackboard says this has rye and maple syrup. You smell it. Sweet malt and light maple. A luscious fruity platform with a light rye spiciness. Mild caramel.
Great taste. Really great. Big malt front followed by a healthy rye presence. Spicy. Malt is fleshed out the maple syrup. It's made deeper and more complex. Fruity but a clean flow into a spicy, hoppy finish.
Feel is sublime. Medium weight, the syrup adds a thickness to the body that takes it to another level. Quenching with a gentle crispness.
A great season ale. If this were in cans or bottles I'd keep it around regularly.
