On tap at the brewery. A lovely golden color with not much of a head or lacing. Slightly cloudy with a placid demeanor, no carbonation evident.
Nose is a delight. A honeyed malt with a doughy sweetness. Light fruits. Apples and pears wrap around the aroma. Faint, sweet alcohol and gently expressing banana. Belgian yeast with a noticeably low degree of funk. Just enough. Mild noble hops
Taste is superb. Lightly toasted malt comes forward and allows the sweet presentation of the honey from the nose. Those apples and pears make it so juicy. The banana comes a little more forward. The alcohol flashes just a bit of an edge that flows perfectly into the gently hoppy finish. That being said, it's easy to miss and drink this like a session beer. A bit of what seems like Hallertau and Mittlefreu to add a mild bitterness.
Feel is lush with a mild creaminess. Gentle carbonation belies the crispness the comes with each swallow.
This is an excellent beer. Period. The superb drinkability and flavor make this an anytime favorite for me. It goes down way to easily for a beer of this abv. It tastes great with pulled pork and broccoli rabe. I love it.
