Served on tap in a shanty pint-style glass at the Yonkers Brewing Co., Yonkers, NY. Was able to retest it from a growler purchased at the brewery.
A: Pours a black color with brown highlights, a light brown, one finger head, and solid retention and lacing.
S: Aromas of cafe au lait, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark berries, plum, and orange zest. Lactose sweetness.
T: Sweet to semisweet. Palate largely follows the nose, but vanilla and, frankly bourbon flavors, think Southern Comfort, very much out front. If I were told this were aged with orange rinds, I would believe it. Bitterness present, but somewhat in the background of sweetness and overall flavor pallet.
M: Full bodied with robust carbonation. Rich, smooth, and citrusy.
O: Yonkers hit a home run with the delicious, American Imperial Stout. Glad I brought home a crowler.
