a couple of sort of lackluster beers in a row from these guys, i didnt love this one, and i dont think its quite up to their standard, at least established by the ones i have had from them. on tap, it holds a nice head, and tickles the nostrils with bubbles like a soda when i try to smell it. bandaid funk, medical and weird, astringent, herbal, bitter, wheat based, white wine, acid. lots going on in the nose, but none of it is real congruent or cooperative, and it seems a little messy. i didnt know it was a blend at the time, but that makes more sense now. i get some more mature sour beer in here for sure, a little oak, and that crazy medicinal sourness, vinegar, its intense here, moved along by the carbonation though thankfully, which is really active and helpful. it sort of tastes like a sloppy gueuze or something, but with a very distinct and not all the way amazing sour profile. there is some tannic action in here too, warm fermented i assume, possibly really warm, as the yeast is different than anything i really know. notes of wine and red and green apples in the finish, a little leftover sugar but not much. a decent beer, but really nothing too special here, especially for the price. i like their other offerings quite a bit more than this one...
