Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a rugged dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing. The aroma takes some crisp nutty malty tones over some caramel to toffee smoothness. Light earthy hops play with the balance. Some grassiness underneath. The flavor takes all of those previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Smooth semi-sweet biscuity malty tones. Ends up all of that blends on into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation allows some ruggedness to hit in a hoppy fashion. Overall, it’s an American brown ale. Hops free fall and then spread out nicely. I would have again.
