The appearance was a dark murky brown color with a slim finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a nice pace. Sliding lace ran into the glass.
The aroma had an absolutely fantastic blend of sweet mocha, milk chocolate, vanilla bean, sweet cream and coffee beans.
The flavor was once again, fully sweet through those prior mentioned aromatics and then pulled in an ever so delicate roast from those coffee beans. It's there, just extremely faint. Wonderful aftertaste of the sweet chocolate and mocha, slight coffee there.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fairly low, but didn't bother me. ABV felt appropriate. And it's so smooth, wow!
Overall, I've had some pretty odd DIPA's in my life, but this has got to take the cake! Seemed like an Imperial Porter to me, to anyone reading this, don't think DIPA, or you'll be sorry.
Side note: I'm mainly rating this to personal palate because if I rated this to a normal DIPA this wouldn't do well.
