12 oz can from the Wall of Beer in Clemson SC. A late November 2020 canning date is stamped on the bottom rim.
Appearance. Poured into my Belgian snifter revealing an essentially black body with a thin beige head. While the head soon reduced to a ring it remained capable of leaving ample lacing on the sides of the glass when tipped.
There's a lot in this beer and it has been added in good balance such that each appears in the flavor. These are vanilla, coffee, peanuts, cinnamon, cacao, and BB aging. Given this it is not surprising that the peanut butter flavor (but not the aroma) is subtle compared to other peanut butter brews. Likewise for bourbon and bourbon barrel effects. The bitter-sweet balance seems well set too with clear sweetness initially and mild bitterness in the aftertaste.
