Wasn't sure about this one, since I haven't had anything like it before, but it worked. You get the rosemary up front, and then the yeast bomb, and finally the traditional saison flavors later. I thought it smelled a bit stronger than it tasted, but enjoyed it as a good change of pace.

i love the idea of this beer, but the execution is only mediocre i think. as a saison, its clever and tasty, the yeast is bright and alive, and adds a cool spice to the flavor of the beer that works great with the lighter malt base and the oily herbaceous rosemary which is quite pungent. i was thinking in my head sourdough yeast, like the crazy beer almanac put out a few years back. this definitely isnt that, and as good as the saison aspect of this is, its missing that weird tart almost stinky weirdness of sourdough, and without it, the rosemary seems a little overbearing, unchecked at the very least. the flavors are still good though, but why call it sourdough, that part i think is a stretch. carbonation could use a little lift, but the lightness and surprisingly quick finish are both appreciated. i also sort of hoped all the beers on the menu here would be this inventive, but this was really the only one so inspired. worth a try for sure, i think they should brett a batch of this out and see what happens...

Nice beer with great flavor. Easy to drink. Subtle hints of rosemary with a touch of sourness.

On tap at the brewery in Golden. Bright yellow color, short head. I was a little afraid of this beer and I sure am glad I got a small sample first. Aroma is where I got the rosemary and also some yeast. The flavor was extremely medicinal, reminded me if Vick's and Ricola cough drops at the same time, not good.
