Winter warmer comes from England and the tradition of serving a little stronger beer during the winter to warm up the frozen guests. This strong, juicy and strong Christmas beer is this year spiced with cinnamon and vanilla.
"Enjoy this beer after all the hustle and bustle of winter, preferably in peace and quiet in front of the fire. Winter spices give more flavor!"
Daniel Granath, brewmaster

Copenhagen 15/4 2022. 33 cl small chubby bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv. Poppel's usual text heavy design with everything from the basic facts about the beer to food pairing (good with Lamb stew, fruitcake and spicy cheese).
Pours clear dark brown with a red hue. Small off-white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a malty sweet odor mingling with Christmas spice. Toffee, caramel, hints of brown sugar. Cinnamon in abundance. Vanilla sugar.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and sugary. Lingers for a while. Finish is cinnamon and sugar.
It seems that they are compensating for the modest ABV by going all in with the Christmas spices.
