solid west coast, nice and bright fruit forward hop profile without being particularly interesting, but the quality is there, and thats enough i suppose, just my second beer from this operation, and first in many years. golden and shiny, pretty clear, and with a pure white head on it and lots of bubbles, looks pretty good. aroma and flavor or orange and crushed pineapple with some herbal support and decent bitterness, very clean and nothing overdone or lingering, with nuances of ripe mango and dank weedy character, but this is still pretty drinkable, especially for its strength which pushes into the almost double ipa range, doesnt present like that in the glass or on the palate at all really. simple grain base, pale two row barley seems to be the bulk of it, maybe a little pils malt too, there is flavor and freshness to the grain, but its basic and out of the way, fermented tidy and close to dry, which also serves to make this mighty drinkable. the bitterness is forthright without being punishing, and its still fruity first to me. lively feeling, some tangerine zestiness, peppy and fresh. nice beer, very classic west coast style really, nothing unexpected but well made and nicely hopped. surprised by the lighter body for its strength too. summery hop character but an all seasons ipa for sure.

Pours golden with a light haze. A generic fruity aroma is enlivened by its freshness (canned 62 days ago). The palate is equally fresh and full-bodied though not particularly distinctive. Enjoyed the piney bitter finish. Thanks, Monocacy, for the canning dates.
