Barrelhouse Brewfest sample # 6. Woohoo! Fairly standard dark with low carbonation, it's a bit early in the evening to be hitting darks already, but this one looks good. I detect lots of caramel on the nose, moving to a more chocolate like finish and aftertaste. It's not really an 'all that' beer, but one of the few you could drink a number of without feeling like you just ate a 7 course meal.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. I was not very impressed with this beer, as it really didn't come across as a Porter to me when I tried it. The beer poured a dark but bubbly clear brown. Roasted malty aroma and it actually tasted kind of like a Dunkel with a sweet malt finish. I think it needs to pack more punch.
