16 oz. can, no date, poured into Beyond the Veil glass and allowed to warm.
L: Beer is dark black. 1F light tan head with pretty good retention, leaving a persistent cap and ring.
S: Smoky bacon(?), black coffee, and roasted malts. Smoke definitely is the predominant note. Maple and cinnamon just not in evidence.
T: Follows nose. Definitely needed more maple and cinnamon here (yes some breweries overkill those, but not here) as smoke and roast really dominate all the way through and the smoke lingers for a long time upon finish and goes a bit bitter.
F: Moderate body, a bit of carbonation. Smoke and roast way out of balance for what this is advertised as.
O: OK if you were to taste it blind and not know what it's supposed to be, but it doesn't meet the stated objective.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Nice and dark, as expected, with a fairly small head that doesn't last very long. Nice lacing, for those who enjoy that. Fragrance is quite pleasant - nothing overstated. A tiny hint of bacon flavor on the nose. A tad sweet of a fragrance.
The flavor is solid. A good example of a stout. I found more bacon flavor in the aftertaste than while drinking. Not off putting at all. It's smooth, creamy, lightly carbonated - but not flat. The ABV isn't noticeable on the tongue.
This is a good one that I'll pick up again if I see it.

Smoke is the dominant flavor. There's an underlying sweetness and maple flavor. Had on nitro so the feel was excellent. Aroma is smoky too. Overall a good imperial oatmeal stout.

Very smoky and sweet and the same time. I liked the subtle way they worked the bacon into the flavoring. It was mostly roasted coffee or espresso and chocolate that came through. It was extremely smoky but also sweet I am guessing from the maple syrup. Overall I expected this to be a FAIL... But it was a SUCCESS!!! I would definitely drink again!
