This looks like wet orange tinged mud or something but doesn't really look like an IPA. Maybe I got a bad one but it doesn't really smell like an IPA either. It's not so bad but an interesting flavor of malt and honey with some bitter hops and slight alcohol coming through. Alcohol pretty well hidden. I've looked at other reviews and they seem to like this more than I. One of my least favorite doubles.

This beer is a nice take on an imperial IPA. Lots of fruit flavors.Strong grapefruit pith, nice touch of honey. At 10.4 ABV you would never guess that. Also this beer is brewed in N.J. , not PA. Ship bottom is a town on Long Beach Island, this beer is brewed in Beach haven, N.J.(There is a ship bottom PA ,which is weird cause there is no coast in PA.) Very good IPA. Don't drink a six pack. Somewhat astringent.

Pours a cloudy amber color, aroma is pine heavy, pineapple, abit of honey too. Taste is lite for a DIPA, but the malt, hops, orange-honey blend well , a bit dry, I like that . Good job.

Cloudy orange copper color. White head, good head retention. Aroma is fruity hops and sweetness. Taste starts sweet orange juice and finishes a little drier with some bitterness. Some bready malt in there too. Medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel.

Nice pour into a small tulip. A lightly hazed orange color with a 1/2" white head that soon disappears leaving behind a ring of foam and some interesting speckles of lacing on the sides of the glass when sipping.
The aromas are mostly piney resin with undertones of citrus and what may be malt in the background.
The flavor starts of with pine and citrus but quickly becomes mostly all bitterness without much break being provided by what malt is present. I'm not finding this particularly complex and while the bitterness is not the tounge rasping type it eventually becomes mildly unpleasant since there is no break.
The mouth feel is in the medium to light range and carbonation is fine but a bit on the light side. The finish mostly winds up hanging around for a long while but again its mostly bitter before showing some other flavors but it eventually dries out.
Overall I'm glad to have had a chance to try this but it hasn't made it on to my list for buying again and certainly isn't a candidate to appear in my rotation as an occasional DIPA.
