On tap, it pours hazy gold color with an off white head that faded in average time and left decent spotty lacing. Smells of wheat, honey, light peppery spices and sweet malt. Flavor is more malty that wheat or yeast with brown sugar and crackers in the mix.

L: light, golden color
S: smells like banana and very faint hints of other flavors.
T: pronounced banana flavor, clove and bubblegum. Carbonated watery taste is apparent behind the flavors. Definitely a very light summer beer.
F: light like drinking seltzer
O: not very well balanced for a light summer session ale. The banana and light bubblegum aroma is the high point. Worth trying if you like hefeweizens.

Ship Bottom Brewery "Beach Patrol Hefeweizen"
on tap at the brewery on 26 August 2017
Notes: Very hazy yellow gold body beneath a bright white head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma: phenolic, clove, plastic, hint of smoke, light banana, and soft wheat. The flavor follows with some additional floral character, bubblegum, apple, a hint of lemon, some spiciness, a bit of burnt plastic, sweetish wheaty malt, and a median bitterness. It's sweetish and malty but has a dry finish due to its stiff bitterness and yeasty spiciness. Medium-light in body and crisply effervescent. Not the best hefweizen I've had, but it sure doesn't shy away from yeasty character. Worth trying.

This is a nice half of Ison made on Long Beach Island, a perfect beer for a hot summer day after a big swim in the ocean!

Hazy light yellow. Big white head
Funk from wheat, spicy yeast, banana
Taste is around same as smell
Very light. Kind of dry
A nice hefeweizen. Nice to have it so immediately local.

I'm definitely a hefeweizen fan and this one was quite good. Pretty standard smell and taste - what you would expect from a hefe. An easy drinking and really nice beer.
