Tribute to Old Barney. The most iconic landmark on Long Beach Island. Our classic German Lager has a malty aroma with a subtle fruit flavor from the Munich malt and has a very crisp finish.

Really nice clear amber appearance.
Medium to medium light carbonation with about a medium body. Has a slight thick sticky feel which is nice.
Aroma is malt, toasted grain, crispy bread crust and cereal. Overall a very nice aroma.
Taste for the most part doesn't stray too far from the aroma. Mild malt sweetness yet there is enough going on flavor wise that it balances out nicely.
Overall it was a very enjoyable beer that makes me want to check out other offerings from this brewery

16oz can into a pint glass. Dating would seem to indicate it was canned in May 2021, so a month old.
Looks decent body-wise, crystal clear pale reddish body. However, the head fizzes out pretty quickly, hence no lacing.
Sweet malty aroma.
Taste follows the nose. It's certainly not an American Lager, maybe a Marzen, Amber/Red or Vienna. Clean, sweet, goes down a treat.
Mouth medium, finish sweet
Overall, the kind of beer you could happily drink all night. Head retention could be better, but that's the only knock on it.

works for me.
a) Pours a clear amber, opper body raising solid white head that lasts and laces.
s Too faint - toasted malt.
t) Wakes up, Lots of malt tempered by spicy, floral hop.
f) Medium bodied and crisp.
o) A Vienna lager and as such - wins the day.

Pours red/copper with a thick white head that fades quickly. Aroma is mild biscuit notes and a touch fruity. Taste is caramel malty. Good amount of flavor going on in here. Feel is smooth with good carbonation and mild finish. Overall, an easy drinking lager from Ship Bottom brewery consumed in Ship Bottom.

Dark orange in color with perfect clarity. Poured with a moderate, off-white foam with good retention. Caramel malt and light bready aromas. Medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Grainy and caramel malt flavors followed by medium hop bitterness. Caramel malt flavors return on the back end. Finished cleanly with light caramel notes. Caramel malt character was a bit dominant. Generally lacked malt character and body. Nevertheless, this was pretty easy drinking and had a clean lager finish.

Ship Bottom Brewery "Barnegat Lager"
on tap at the brewery on 26 August 2017
Notes: Clear deep-amber/copper colored body beneath a short head of white. Average head retention, better than average lacing. Limited aroma mostly of toasty and grainy malt. Clean. The flavor is fuller with sweetish and lightly caramelish and toasty malt, and floral and spicy and grassy hops. A very firm bitterness balances it and leads to a dry finish. It's sweet upfront but then dry and bitter in the finish with residual spicy and grassy hops. Medium bodied and crisp. Overall pretty decent, somewhat of a Vienna/amber lager.
