Sticky Fingers Salt Water Taffy IPA

It begins by cracking open a pint can. The contents are then thusly poured in a clear Imperial pint glass. Initially, there's a head, but it's short-lived. The color of the brew is orange-amber, toward the bright and opaque sides. The smell is muddled, with some fruit, malt and lactose, but what stands out is the coconut. Yes, coconut is definitely in there. The beer is plenty carbonated, but this is no taste treat. First, it's the saltiest beer you may ever have, to the point no subtleties can be discerned. Even the lactose can't smooth that aspect. Allegedly, there's sugar in this, but not to the level of the salt. There's little getting used to this one. It tastes as bad at the finish as the first hit. Attempts to expand the beer drinking experience are certainly appreciated, so condolences here. Nice try, but it doesn't work.

 

 

 

 

I do not like coconut! To me the beer smells like coconut suntan lotion. The beer felt thin in the mouth. It had a nice light golden hazy color, I got a strong taste of coconut. The last flavor I would think about when it is called sticky finger saltwater taffy.

I love fresh coconut but that is it.... flavorings and shavings you find on cheap cakes disgusts me. I did not like this beer. if you like coconut you might like it though..... good luck and bottoms up!
