2021. Can from Uptown Market.

A clear orange with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is a clear Festbier style, competently executed, with a blend of softly sweet Vienna malt, earthy, spicy hops, a nice bread note. The palate opens mildly bitter with a clean, minty, earthy, mildly dusty bite. This is followed by a really nice malty sweetness, a blend of dough, light caramel and a rich Vienna sweetness. A hair watery on the mid-palate. Drying, mildly bitter, a touch mineraly from the carbonation on the finish. Solid.

looks like this one is back after a hiatus, had it on tap last night at bitter creek, sure seems like this is the same beer. for all the cool hoppy and wild and wood aged beers these guys make, sometimes its their simpler beers that really stand out to me, this is excellent, a fine example of the style, and one of the more drinkable examples of it that i have found this fall, happy to have this one in the market here. its a little lighter in color and body than a lot of them, a paler orange, light rust color, with some shine in the glass, good clarity, and an inch of fluffy white head that lasts the whole drink. the aroma is of toasted grains, toffee, and minerals, autumnal for sure, and with plenty of german lager yeast character still, clean as it all is. some simple cereal and honey notes in the flavor, more earthy minerals, and noticeably dry compared to its peers out there, really very little finishing sweetness in here, despite having some richness from the grain earlier on. some light bready character, the yeast flavor through the whole thing, a distinct fall vibe, and a relatively snappy finish with some hops too. really good, lighter and drier than most, supremely drinkable. i love fall beers!
