Blend of different American-style IPAs aged in Aquavit barrels for varying lengths of time (2 months to 8 months).
Aquavit is a Scandinavian spirit made with caraway and star anise, which is often described as tasting like black licorice. All of the spice character comes from the barrels, as the base beer is a traditional IPA and not spiced. The oak, aquavit, and hop notes come together to create the perception of an intense and fresh beer with noticeable yet balanced spice and wood notes from the barrel.
