a clean and easy lager here from these guys, done in the german tradition, a simple but well executed beer, no place to hide any shortcomings in a style like this, and there arent any to hide. breakside always hits for me, and its nice to see them do something basic and steady like this, well refined, mostly clear, fresh on the malt in nose and taste, and with a flavorful lager yeast that really defines this one for me, especially with such a light body and minimal hop profile, its just a drinker, but a clean one and a dry one, and one thats anything but boring, light as it is. a crackery eurpoean grain taste to this, dry in the end, minerals of the water profile are there too, and this tastes like an import to me, so classic and true to style that nothing about it really says american craft. at the same time that its excellent, its also nothing to get too worked up about, but its a nice easy drinker in their lineup now, and i hope i start to see it around a little bit. never a doubt about how great these guys are, but this is additional evidence of it for sure.
