Collaboration with Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.
Smashbang is a kinda hazy, kinda West Coast IPA that we originally designed with our friends at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. When they were visiting Portland, we thought it would be an awesome opportunity to brew a beer together based on some new ideas we’d all been working on, and Smashbang emerged as the brainchild of our collective creative whims. We wanted to use a soft ester-forward yeast, clean European malts, and an international array of hops to break some new ground in hop-forward beers. Here you’ll find a blend of some of our favorite new hop varietals including Waimea, Wakatu, and Galaxy. This beer is a fruity hop bomb with notes of melon, passionfruit, starfruit, and peach. Cheers!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pour slightly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Slightly dank herbal notes, grassy, floral, light tropical fruit and zesty citrus, crackery malt, and a touch of sweetness.
T: Grassy, spicy, floral, and dank herbal notes hit first but soften a bit as it warms, zesty citrus, lime, lemon, and tangelo, tropical fruit, passion fruit, apricot, starfruit, and a hint of melon and guava, crackery biscuity malt, faint wheat twang, and just a touch of sweetness.
M: Light to medium body, moderately lively carbonation.
O: Bright and crushable. Good stuff.
