Bottle from the source, 2020 release.
A very dark brown with a brown head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose opens with nice, toasted coconut, fleshy and fruity. There's a nice bourbon character, with more coconut and some vanilla, and a mild nutty note. Dark chocolate, a little cream, a little booze and some ganache like richness is present. The palate opens soft and boozy with chocolate, cream, a mild coffee, a vanilla sweetness. There's a noticeable booze note is present. Coconut and vanilla are present in the mid-palate. Quite light in body with a hint of leather. The booze is a little distracting.

The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention and decent lacing. On the nose, there's a lot going on, as I pick up vanilla, coconut, dark chocolate, a hint of licorice and some underlying light bourbon. Pretty nice, though I thought the combination of aromas clashed just a bit. The flavor profile replicates the nose, though I'm pick up a bit more bourbon and dark chocolate (which I like). Muothfeel seems a bit thin, especially for the style, the abv and barrel aging. The beer still delivers plenty of flavor and the alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile.
While nothing extraordinary, this is still a pretty tasty beer from the folks at Breakside. This is a pretty easy to appreciate and enjoy ba baltic porter from Breakside.
The regular Cultivating Mass is listed as a Baltic porter on this site, but the label actually lists this beer as an imperial porter.
