Can from the source.
Black with a thin, brown head with good retention and little lacing, this looks solid. The nose has a boozy depth to it, a blend of mostly long aged beer and some fresh barrel aged beer mixed in. Leather, tobacco, dark fruit, dark caramel, a little coconut and vanilla, rum, brandy, there's a lot going on. Mildly woody with a noticeable booze heat that best works with the apple brandy notes. The palate opens mostly sweet with dark caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, a touch of char, along with a myriad of barrel flavors. Rum and brandy, leathery old bourbon with tobacco. A light smoke and cocoa note are present on the finish. Medium light in body, a touch overcarbonated, this finishes long and boozy. Nice stuff.

Thanks to John_M for this one. 16oz can (dated 8/14/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected solid black color, but unlike so many other big ABV stouts, had 3/4 inch of medium brown head that had very good retention, but light lacing.
In the nose, there was a very pleasant general "booziness", due to the 5 different types of barrels used. some sweet caramel was dominant, and there was some woodiness too. The base beer scents were mostly hidden, but did show up a bit around the edges.
Pretty similar on the tongue, just expanded and amplified. I was expecting some alcohol heat, but there really wasn't any. A slight touch of coffee-ish roast lingered a bit at the back end.
The body was perhaps a touch on the light side for the style, was smooth, and had a finish that was just a touch on the dry side of medium.
Drinkability was very good, especially for such a big, rich brew.
Overall, a very good beer. Limited release, so it's a must-grab if you see it.
