a collaboration with sun king, and a really well refined fruited sour, our toast beer as the calendar rolled over to 2021. the beer is golden, the sourness is clean and not too intense, and the fruit works in a complimentary way, the high carbonation also makes this feel kind of celebratory, i could have easily domed the whole bomber by myself. its tart and refreshing, fizzy and tickles the palate, and the grain remains very light through the drink. the guava tastes natural to me, identifiable in here without being obscured by things like pineapple and passion fruit that always seem to accompany it. the lime highlights it, adds its own acidity, and just a hint of zesty pithy bitterness that helps this finish quickly. nice and piquant and lactic but not to the extent that its sharp, drinking sour, not enough of these around anymore. sort of presents itself like a berliner. overall i was quite pleased with this, super well refined and bright. i trust breakside to do every style well, and they always deliver. a cool collaboration, a neat mix of flavors, and a easygoing sour that i highly recommend.
