Can from Uptown Market.
Black with a dark brown head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose has quite a bit of roast and dark chocolate, both of which lend plenty of bitterness, which is good, because there's a strong undercurrent of sweetness here. Dark caramel syrup, brown sugar, blueberry sweetness and a mild vanilla extract note are present. The palate opens medium full with a blend of bitterness and sweetness, both quite prominent but in balance. Dark chocolate covered dried blueberry, vanilla and dark caramel are present on the mid-palate. Mildly sweet on the finish with a bitter edge, this beer is softly carbonated and creamy on the palate. Very good.
