"Our flagship Belgian-style beer, this ale is meant to embody the Breakside spirit in a glass. It's the kind of beer you want to enjoy when you kick back in the sun (or rain), relax with friends, and take a break. Very pale straw with a yeast-driven haze and moderate carbonation. Good ring of head. Aroma is a complex mix of spice (coriander dominates), yeast driven phenols (the 'band aid' aroma), and light grain. On the tongue, the beer is dry and spritzy with a nice chamomile flavor mid palate, some light tartness up front (from the wheat), and a mildly grassy hop finish. There's a lingering bitterness that differentiates our version from many examples of the style. Mild grain flavors and light hints of orange peel as well. Very light bodied, refreshing, dry and easy drinking."

Have tried this new beer from this new-ish brewery a couple times before, but this is my first chance at a review. A pint poured on a picture-perfect early October afternoon at Breakside. Halladay just pitched a no-hit gem on the tube.
A: Wheat-y orange, a baked bread crust hue. Nice milky haze, capped with a skimcoat of white cream, clumping in a slim ring and breaking at the edges. Too cloudy to find any bubbles, but I'll betcha some are in there. Ringing lace lags before a slow descent.
S: A fine smell of spiced wheat and the sweet orange zest and coriander. Lovely and strong enough to compete with the better wits I've sniffed.
T: Doughy/malty/yeasty, all things 'wit'. Add in grassy/hay bale. Enough spice, with a fruity leaning towards pear and apple mush. Spritely bitterness, just enough greenness and zest to ward off over-maltiness. Slight medicinal leanings in the finish.
M: Creamy feel with a light-medium body; probably 'to style' but edges toward the 'thin' side in this drinker's opinion. Taste buds drip after each sip.
D: Refreshing and almost gulp-able, on a mild and sunny afternoon; don't put me near this on a hot summer day or I'm apt to drink the keg dry. For an early offering from a fledgling brewery damn near perfect and a worthy 'flagship'-type offering.
