2022 release

P black w/ a small tan cap
N med nose of char, dark fruit, and licorice
T vinous dark fruit, tobacco, and barrel notes over milk chocolate; finishes w/ a bit of booze and barrel bitterness
Mf smooth med body that's a bit slick as well; soft-med to med carb
O a balanced, nicely done barrel-aged imperial stout; drinks well

Had on tap. Black opaque body with a brown head. Aromas of dark fruit, roasted malt, bourbon, dark chocolate, molasses, and a hint of caramel. Throwback! Taste is run by the bourbon, chocolate malts support with dried dark fruit. Feel is warm verging on hot, smooth and drier for style these days, malty and chewy

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin, dark khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, dried plums; a bit boozy. Flavor is dark toasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, dates and molasses. Chocolatey bourbon finish; warming. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. A very nice, but hot, barreled stout. Fine chocolate notes with some dark fruit, probably from the bourbon. Barrel character is forward with great bourbon flavors. A touch of harshness and shows its ABV in the finish. I don't age stouts any more, but this one would probably mellow out a bit and be even greater in a year or so. One of the best new barreled stouts I've had this year and one of the first Breaksides I've had in a while, alas.
