From the Breakside Brewing website: After 10 years of brewing different variations at our pubs– all malt, rice and corn, only rice, only corn – we’ve brought our learned experience to bear in Luz Natural. We’ve taken a few moves out of the playbooks from our friends at big breweries to create a craft version of a delicious light lager. We use two Northwest-grown two row malt, a grip of Canadian-grown Pilsner malt, and real flaked corn to give the beer a light body and crisp finish. Like all Breakside beers, this is ingredient-driven, with a crackery malt base at the forefront with just enough support from yeast and hops to balance the beer perfectly.

This beer pours a light clear golden color with an almost 2-finger head. The aroma light grains, yeast and bready sweet. Taste is clean, crisp and a slight hop bitterness. Easy drinking, light beer that has a great flavor. BOD 1-24-2024 purchased @ Safeway.

Look: As expected, pours a clear pale yellow with a lively head that slowly settles to a pillow and leaves nice lacing behind
Aroma: Straw, light floral hop notes, wafts of corn, soda crackers, and cereal grains
Taste: Follows the nose well, starting off with light grain and straw notes, along with a little corn that set the tone for the entry of floral hops. Light honeysuckle and cherry blossoms stand out and those play alongside the malt until it closes with cereal grains and flowers
Mouthfeel: Light but not watery, clean, medium-high carbonation, and crisp and clean on the finish with no detectable dryness
Overall: I dig it. It’s a Mexican-Style Lager and it tastes and drinks exactly like one, checking all the style boxes appropriately. Straight-forward, easy to drink, and basic – just what my lawn mower and me need for some company
