Look: Pours a nearly clear pale yellow with an exuberant head that slowly craters away to a pillow, leaving rings of lacing behind
Aroma: Tangerines, lemons, raspberries, juicy orange, black tea, wet hop cones, some earthiness, fir needles, and dank
Taste: Whoa. Sharp and pithy lemons and tangerines come out swinging, quickly followed and joined by fir needles and fresh brewed black tea. Raspberries and dank come next and integrate well as the fresh hop goodness continues and earthiness swirls around as well until citrus fruit, fresh hops, and tea return to close it out along with a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and dry on the finish
Overall: This is some outstanding stuff. I told myself I was done with fresh hop beers for the season but couldn’t help myself when I saw this Breakside FH collab as they are and have been at the top of the fresh hop game for years IMO. The Idaho 7 comes through nicely and showcased very well, plus there is still a lot of fresh hop presence at 2 weeks old. Delightful stuff here, well-made as usual, and fun to try a rarity for fresh hop for me with the Idaho 7

Collab with Ism brewing
Fresh Idaho 7
Second of four to enjoy. Opened this one about a month after canning.
Idaho 7 is one of those underrated hops, the kind that doesn’t get a lot of hype but always delivers. Fresh hopped I7 is no different, delivering here a light earthiness and some fruity notes—hints of peach and stone fruit, with a lingering finish and low bitterness.
