Look: Rich, ruby-red on the pour with a dense off-white head that balloons to the rim and slowly settles to a pillow, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Pine sap, fir needles, pink grapefruit, wet conifer forest, freshly baked bread, light toffee, diesel and fruit-forward Cannabis, and light raspberry
Taste: Opens up with a tremendous hit of every and anything conifer; pine needles, sap, wet Doug fir, pine cones, dew-drenched forest, and freshly split wood. As this starts to develop, grapefruit and Cannabis charge in to claim a spot at the table as rich, bready malt holds it all together. Raspberry peeks in a few times throughout and closes with conifer, grapefruit, and a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, medium-high carbonation, and lightly dry on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I love these folks, John Marketplace, and Winter IPAs as well as the name of this beer so it was an easy grab and a damn good beer. Very conifer-heavy, which is fitting, and the rich malt bill does well in balancing it all out. Delicious and recommended
