22 ounce bottle , no date seen. Poured into a tulip.
Pours black as night, cappuccino colored head of bubbles in varying sizes. No lacing but a generous ring around the interior of the glass. Looks great.
Smoke or ash, vanilla, heavy roast nose.
Bitter dark chocolate, rich vanilla, chocolate covered coffee beans. Dark roast coffee. Not getting much heat from the peppers, it’s more of a vegetal pepper. It’s not off putting in any way. Mild cinnamon at the finish. To me, tastes like a big roasty, mildly coffee’d imperial stout. Tastes great but definitely not as advertised.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that isn't leaving any lace. The scent had hints of roast and chocolate. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink for a higher and stout. Does finish with semi sweet chocolate. The mouthfeel is fuller in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Poured from 32 oz crowler

A: Pitch black with 2-3 finger mocha head comprised of large bubbles that dissipated reasonably quickly. Zero lacing.

S: Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and bits of chili peppers.

T: Chocolate fudge, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon mixed with a little pepper heat.

M: Full bodied and lightly carbonated. Coats the tongue with a syrup like quality. Finish is a little sweet.

O: Tasty stout and right up my alley. Not on the same level as Cake or Bomb! but very enjoyable stout. Thanks to @roguer for giving me the chance to try it.

Pours a solid dark color, topped with a lightly fizzy dark brown head. Retention is pour, quickly fading to nothing.

Chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon on the nose. Deeper inhales reveal a very pleasant level of peppery spice. The nose is basically all about the adjuncts, but it's quite pleasant.

Flavor is an interesting blend of flavors. Vegetal and peppery up front, yielding to cinnamon and vanilla in the middle. Chocolate and roasted malt are present throughout, and providing a strong bitterness on the back third. The chipotle peppers provide an interesting smoky character to the finish, and something I haven't found in previous self-styled Mexican stouts.

Spicy throughout, although fairly restrained. There's a touch of heat that lingers on the lips more so than on the palate.

Smooth and easy, a touch thin for an oatmeal stout, but absolutely no hint of the 10.3% ABV beyond the depth and richness of the flavor.

As far as these flavor bombs go, this one can't quite stack up with Bomb! or Mexican Cake. It is, however, a very solid and enjoyable offering. Every component is present in noticeable but restrained amounts. A very nice alternative for North Floridians and South Georgians looking for a solid local brew.

wow. I wanted to like it, really.
Poured into the classic RIS glass LOL a frigging sniffer.

a: its black as night, but hey its so dark in the tasting room you cannot see anything at a back table, lol. I got up and went into the tv room and looked at it. dark brown. very little lacing.
about 1/4 head.

s: smells like chalky to me. some coffee, some chocolate. hard to say the glass helped me smell nada really. It could be a day I had sinus issues and could not tell. no hops. bland.

t: maybe I got a old batch of something, but it was terrible at 50f it was served at. I let it sit for a Long time and got a different beer to wait it out. ok had water. re tasting it. some coffee, chocolate but its very bland. its the off taste that get me. chalky as hell. roast malt but no backbone. really poor example.

m: thin for style. LOW carb. gritty and oily

o: worse beer I ever got here, until I drank the dark Saison, that is. sad they gone downhill.
on draft for 5 bucks a 8oz pour, measured it. frigging rip off.

bring back the guest taps and taste some good beer, yours has gone way down hill fast.....
