Pours a slightly rusty copper color with minimal slightly off-white foam and touch of haze.
Fruity notes reminiscent of raisins and fig emerge up front followed in suit by sweet caramel malt notes and a nice earthy/spicy hop presence.
The dark fruit, caramel, and hop profile provides a good amount of depth and complexity, but there is a noticeable bite of alcohol that distracts the palate a wee bit.
Full-bodied, low carbonation, and very warming (a touch hot).
Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. It's a well done barleywine with the depth of complexity you'd expect from the style, but my only criticism is that the alcohol is not well hidden and you know you're drinking a 10%+ beer while sipping this. Delicious regardless though.

On tap at the brewery.
Pours with a clear copper body topped by a good head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing.
Full, smooth body with well set carbonation. Nice,, mostly fruity and fruitcake, aromas. The alcohol is apparent in tasting but well hidden in both the nose and partially hidden in the mouthfeel. Light bitterness.
