Zagreus is an ancient Greek God associated with the hunt. the vine, and wine and that is why the last time we made this beer it went into red wine barrels. This time, we have done something inspired a little closer to home and aged it for 10 months in Kentucky bourbon barrels. It retains the same hybrid sensibility of combining something familiar with something unexpected, while showcasing the versatility of the Belgian tripel style as well as its surprising compatibility with all types of barrel-aging.

On tap at the brewery taproom in Jacksonville. Sold as "Bourbon BA Zagreus" with 9% ABV.
This Belgian tripel has a heavy, but not heavy handed, bourbon barrel treatment. The balance between bourbon barrels and ale is about equal, with an appropriately limited amount of wood. The body is very smooth but a bit undercarbonated.
